Thousands of students and supporters of the opposition parties demonstrated in Belgrade on Thursday (16/1) for a fifty-eighth straight day.
The students began the day's demonstrations with a symbolic washing of the Belgrade University building to protest the decision to keep the university rector. The removal of the rector, who has ignored the protests, has been a key demand of the students.
Several hours later, the main opposition rally began at Belgrade's central square.
