Mystery, the stage name of one Erik Von Markovic, world famous Pick Up artist (PUA) is the guy who made up Mystery Method, the secret that he's taught thousands (and who knows? maybe millions) of men on how to get beautiful women into bed. Mystery recorded this video at my house in La Jolla on Whale Watch Way above La Jolla Shores, a little while back. He swept up my Macbook Pro and started walking around outside, going down the steps and back behind my place to the swimming pool where he pointed out that approaching a girl is like jumping into a swimming pool for the first time...every time.
Mystery and I had a conversation that I think helped lead up to this video a few weeks before while we dined with Neil Strauss and some other friends a few weeks before. I pointed out to him that his rounded face and intense eyes would make for really great blog video, like the lonelygirl15 videos that were all the rage back then.
But leave it to Mystery and his sense of theatrics and style to come up with this video on fear of approach that quickly and rightfully has become a cult classic in the pick-up world.
This video is a really good example of why I'm so proud of Area51Lifestyle because we did such a good job of bringing Mystery Method to people who never would have been exposed to it in such a personal, interesting and touching way.
Listen me and Mystery haven't and don't always get along. But you've got to recognize his passion, his curiosity and the value that he brings to things instead of thinking of all the times in Neil Strauss' book, The Game, that he stormed around Project Hollywood or threw his cell phone into the wall.
(And for the record Mystery didn't throw his phone every time he broke up. He's just a passionate guy and he really does love the woman that he meets as very best as he can.)
