We had invited proposals for a four month long online engagement to curate and create your own archival projects. It could be family archives, community histories, institutional material, research work or any other collection. Selected participants would meet every month, four times for either of the following: technical workshops with archive professionals, presentation by researchers, one-on-one mentoring and group sharing discussions within the group.
First in this series was the workshop with Mitul Kajaria on Digitization, held in September 2020.
Mitul Kajaria is a photo-artist and curator based in Ahmedabad. Apart from practising independently, he works as an associate curator with Satya Art Gallery and with Rangjyot, a fine art print studio, and archive. Mitul’s work has been recognised internationally by the Barbican, London; also, in India, Africa and is published in National Geographic Traveller India and Better Photography.In the past four years, he has had three solo exhibits, and a collaborative art installation at Abhivyakti I: a
multidisciplinary public arts festival. Subsequently, he took over the role of the Curator for Visual Arts at the second edition of Abhivyakti.
