A four-alarm fire on St. Charles Avenue sent smoke into the air and blocked traffic on the famed thoroughfare Friday before noon.
Two people were injured and were said to be in fair condition with smoke exposure, according to New Orleans EMS Director Dr. Emily Nichols.
The fire started near the top of a home in the 2300 block of St. Charles Avenue and viewer video showed substantial flames on one side of the top part of the building.
