I have been loving how the IR-X sounds when going direct into my DAW, as well as how it sounds going through the return of a tube amp in the room. I wanted to see how the IR-X would handle going through an inexpensive power amp, into a basic 4x12 cabinet, mic'ed up with a simple setup. For this experiment, I am using the IR-X on channel 1, out of the fx send, into a Seymour Duncan Powerstage 170, which was plugged into an old Marshall 1960 slant cabinet with Celesteon Vintage 30s. The cab was mic'ed up with a Sure SM57, and went directly into my RME interface. The setup is about as basic as it gets! The only post processing done was a high and low pass, along with a small dip in the 4k-8k area. I have included samples of the IR-X with the built in boost on and off, along with bonus footage at the end of the video - for all the dog lovers out there! I think this setup worked really well, but I would love to hear feedback from those who clicked on this video!
