Dion Fortune makes two important points in regards to testing the "purity" of your tradition.
The first point is that every tradition has an origin. do you know the origins of your spiritual practice?
To check the purity, compare your practice with the principles and structure of it's origin.
that which is not against the root, can be part of the fruit.
The second point is that the vitality and longevity of a tradition depends on it's ability to assimilate.
any faith that remains uninfluenced by contemporary thought is as good as dead.
tldr; How does it stack against the original? How does it stack up in the modern world?
