Turkey has intensified cross-border airstrikes on suspected targets of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, or PKK in northern Iraq.
“It created a huge fear in the village. Two families in Segeri village have left, and the rest are living in fear,” said Beshir Mohammed, Segeri villager.
The strikes in Iraq happened after the PKK took responsibility for a suicide attack on a government building in the Turkish capital Ankara.
The attack happened hours before Turkey's Parliament reopened after its three-month summer recess with an address by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
