Later era copies of LP Toys (or Lik Be or IDL or ID Toys: many different interpretations of the same Lik Be Metal & Plastics logo) which may or may not have had a "glow in the dark" function. Maker undetermined, the lack of an LP logo insinuates copies made on the sly but who knows -- This particular yellow tinted variety were often included in blister card rack toy sets featuring a space gun or rocket ship with a handful of spaceman copies to sneak into school. Trotted out some of my maked LP originals for comparison: Chromed or painted white cast figures are usually originals but always look for that distinctive LP logo to be sure. LP also ceased logo stamping their space toys at some point so for all we know they may be later era product farmed out for other purposes.
And here's a couple more hints on spotting LP designed spacemen: They never made a seated pilot figure, they are always standing still in a posed manner, and their figures *never* wear oxygen tanks of any kind. Who knows what they were breathing, but the design is likely based on early publicity photos of the Mercury Seven astronauts and they did not wear oxygen tanks either. Guessing the age on copies like these is sort of futile but it's fairly certain they were made as the Space Toy fad was petering off and possibly even as late as the 1980s cashing in on the Star Wars toy market. They aren't all that common but frowned upon by collectors in the know for lacking direct LP provenance & somewhat soft detailing typical of a copy. Going market value on them is maybe $.50 cents a figure. Decent inexpensive collection fodder to fill out that vintage spaceman stash or use in Space Art.
