In partnership with the Virginia Department of Historic Resources, this annual event brings together preservationists, architects, engineers, developers, investors and historians to help make the case for historic preservation during the Virginia General Assembly’s Legislative Session.
Keynote speaker was Donovan Rypkema, principal at PlaceEconomics. Rypkema's firm conducts studies, surveys and workshops in cities across the country that demonstrate how historic preservation plays a critical role in neighborhood revitalization, affordable housing and smart growth. Speakers also included Julie Langan, State Historic Preservation Officer and Director of the Department of Historic Resources; Hunter Jamerson of Macaulay Jamerson and Sessa Attorneys at Law; Genevieve P. Keller, Board Chair, Preservation Virginia; Trip Pollard, Public Policy Committee Chair, Preservation Virginia; Elizabeth S. Kostelny, CEO, Preservation Virginia.
