2018 marks the 150th anniversary of St Pancras International railway station. When the station originally opened, it was mainly beers, not people, that were passing through. The station was a focal point for the distribution of beer throughout London in the late 19th and early 20th century, with Bass Brewery at the heart of the operations. However, the station had to adopt with changing times, as new players entered the freight industry challenging rail as the dominant means of distribution of goods. The station underwent a multi million pound renovation and was reopened in 2007. It now welcomes up to 50 million passengers a year and isa hub of commercial activity.
