“I Can't Give You Anything But Love” by Ukulele Ike (Cliff Edwards) 1928
This song is from The Blackbird Revue of 1928 and has become a standard. A nice early rendition that was very popular in its day.
Best known for being the voice of Jiminy Cricket in Walt Disney's Pinocchio (1940), he had a long and varied career. He recorded many songs in the 1920s and 30s and was in a couple of films including the Hollywood Review of 1929 singing “Singin' in the Rain”.
He was largely responsible for the Ukulele craze of the 1920s. He introduced millions to them and he produced his own line. Between he and Johnny Marvin the Ukulele was very much part of the popular culture of the 1920s. Even popular song sheet music of the time nearly always included Ukulele cords.
