Thanks to its strategic position in the middle of the Mediterranean, Malta has been a hub for logistics and shipping for hundreds of years.
Back in the 1500s, the Knights Hospitaller, also known as the Order of Saint John, played a key role in solidifying Malta's central position by bolstering the Grand Harbour into the commercial shipping and travel centre as we know it today.
