India surpassed Brazil to take the second spot among the nations worst-hit by the coronavirus pandemic after a record spike of 90,802 fresh cases in the last 24 hours took the country's tally past 42 lakh, the Union Health Ministry said. This is the second consecutive day that the country registered over 90,000 new infections in 24 hours. The United States, which has the highest number of COVID-19 cases in the world, has logged over 62.75 lakh infections so far, about 20,000 more than India. The spike comes on a day when metro services restarted in several cities. The decision comes at a time when AIIMS Director Dr Randeep Guleria has said that some parts of India are witnessing a second wave of Covid-19 cases. He added that people are now tired of taking safety measures, and in Delhi, they can be seen without masks, and gathering in crowds, leading to spike in the number of cases. #Coronavirus #NovakDjokovic #RheaChakraborty
