Of all the Les Paul models produced by Gibson, the Studio Faded is probably the best suited for live use out of the group. Ironically, the is mainly due to it's intended design as a studio instrument.
The open pore stain hides dings and scratches much better than the typical gloss found on most guitars. In addition, this Les Paul features the 'chambered body' for weight relief. While this is heresy to many Les Paul faithful, I've found that this guitar features plenty of tone, without weighing on your neck for hours on stage. It also cost around $700 brand new, which is half of even Studio model, not to mention the standards.
If you're a fan of the Les Paul tone and need a guitar to take with you on the road, the LP Studio Faded deserves a look.
