In the weeks leading up to a Europe wide Lockdown, I was in Sweden following an adventure to fly on the last flying Avro RJ100 in scheduled passenger service.
Our return flight was with Brussels Airlines on their Airbus A319 OO-SSE on Wednesday, 11th of March 2020. In view of the upcoming lockdown there were very few people on the flight.
I hope you enjoy this trip report.
*Personal experience*
One of the cabin crew had noticed that for my connecting flight I'd opted to take the 2110 flight to Edinburgh instead of the earlier 1545 flight in the afternoon.
One of the cabin crew came over and asked whether I would like to switch onto the earlier flight as they personally were going to operate that sector once we had landed in Brussels.
Thanking her for offering us the chance to get onboard the earlier flight, I explained that our selecting the later option was deliberate as we were intent on doing some PlaneSpotting around the airport.
Intrigued by my plans she sat down and we had a very nice chat where I explained the trip we'd been on having flown from Edinburgh to Gothenburg and then Stockholm as part of my Planespotting trip.
She went on to give me some nice suggestions on different places to visit around Brussels and went on to reiterate that if we wanted to fly to Edinburgh on the earlier flight then that was still an option and to let her know should I change my mind.
It was something very small, but taking that 5 minutes to have a chat with me, and attempt to get me to my final destination earlier, made a very positive impression.
