The key objective of this lesson is to find out pure bending at iterative case for the same exemplary section described in previous videos. At first, the video assumes that all steel layers are elastic and steel layers 2 and 3 undergo compression force. Next, the video draws the strain diagram showing the different strain layers of steel for the given concrete section as well as shows the formula to find out the distance to neutral axis from the top side of the section.
Moving on, the video shows the calculation procedure of compression force working on steel layers 2 and 3; subsequently finds out the tensile force working on steel layer 3. Later, the video finds out the compression force acting on the given concrete section in terms of the product of stress & area. Finally, the video refers to next video to continue the lesson of finding out pure bending of the given exemplary section.
