Dr. Randeep Guleria talks about preparing for the unexpected, how teamwork at all levels matters,
the critical need to have the right person for the right job - irrespective of seniority, how the need to keep innovating is unparalleled, and lastly making use of our right to question everything - irrespective of what the social media says, all in the context of COVID-19.
Randeep Guleria is an Indian pulmonologist and the ex-director of AIIMS, New Delhi. He was a Padma Shri awardee in 2015 and played a significant role in India's COVID-19 response effort. With several decades of career, Dr Guleria has contributed significantly to advancing medical research, particularly in respiratory illnesses and infectious diseases.
He is the first Indian to get a Doctorate of Medicine (DM) in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. Beyond his educational & research responsibilities, Dr. Guleria was the personal physician to the Prime Minister of India from 1998 to 2004 and the physician of many national and international dignitaries.
