Taking the Sony A7 IV for a test run and I am left speechless. The form factor alone feels amazing to work with. I originally came from a Sony a6300. Form factor aside, the 10bit footage was amazing to work with and using a LUT with this footage felt even better. The range it provided allowed me to tweak and push colors further without breaking the footage was a great feeling. Most importantly, the sharpness of the image was also stunning, but what modern day camera isn't sharp. I did use a pro mist filter to reduce a little bit of the sharpness and add a little more halation to the highlights. I know there is a lot of reports of this camera overheating at such settings, but I have not run into this issue yet. I think it comes down to the person using it. As a hobbyist camera, film, photography, and cinematography enthusiast I do not think I have pushed it that far compared to others who may be doing this at a higher level. However, I will plan on creating more projects in the future and will report on the results if any over heating occurs.
