The Fine Arts Foundation March program “Unseen,” a talk by Claremont artist Gorman Bentley, was presented on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at the Ruth Chandler Williamson Gallery in Claremont, CA. The program was co-presented with the Scripps College Williamson Gallery.
Gorman Bentley is an intuitive artist who begins each painting with one selected color that evolves from the first brush stroke to the final one when the painting reveals that it is finished. His paintings invite you to enter the enormous and desolate world his young mind once imagined, using what is painted on the canvas leading to one’s own discoveries of self.
Being born different in a time and place and to parents for whom difference was not acceptable led Gorman to dream of a life where he could be seen and actually belong. He shares a few of the many visions that offered his younger self a way to cope with his own perceptions of the world as he anticipated and waited for that better time and place. The time to be seen is now. Learn more about the Gorman Bentley at [ Ссылка ].
