javanese kendhang ciblon drum rhythms adapted to drumset part 3, recorded on 17 october 2011, in north dartmouth, massachusetts, usa, by weihua zhang.
while not capable of the subtlety of the javanese kendhang coblon drum, and gongs, my adaptations include left hand cymbal strokes representing the kenong stroke (bell of the cymbal), kempul sound (body of the cymbal) and right hand cymbal strokes representing the gong ageng low tone. floor tom and snare (with snares released) represent the left and right hand sounds of the ciblon drum.
traditional elements played with permission from master artists sumarsam and i. m. harjito.
