Turkish police fired tear gas, rubber bullets and water cannon to disperse an annual Gay Pride Parade in central Istanbul on Sunday.
Over 10,000 mostly homosexual individuals took part in the parade near the iconic Taksim Square and confronted around 5,000 riot police.
Organizers say they were denied permission to hold the parade this year because it coincided with the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
