Here's whats going on with Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft, which was on its first astronaut mission. It was initially scheduled to return to Earth on June 26 after a brief delay from June 14, but that date has been pushed back to at least July 2. but why?
First, The Starliner has experienced small helium leaks in its propulsion system. While one leak was identified before launch, four more appeared after the capsule deployed from its rocket.
Moreover, During its approach to the International Space Station (ISS), Starliner had issues with five of its 28 reaction control system thrusters. Four of them were eventually brought back online.
To address these issues, NASA and Boeing have decided to keep Starliner docked with the ISS until they can thoroughly assess the situation and resolve the spacecraft’s issues.
