The final years of the reign of King Aerys i Targaryen were filled with tragedy as many promising heirs to the iron throne met their death leaving the crown at the feet of Prince Maekar Targaryen. But Aerys would one last test as the black dragons hiding across the narrow sea reared there heads again. Aegor Rivers known as Bittersteel, and another son of Daemon Blackfyre, Haegon launched the third blackfyre rebellion. While the Blackfyres did better than the second rebblion at Whitewalls, the third, while bloody did not have the impact of the first blackfyre rebellion.
