This is my new home layout of Marklin 1 gauge trains. It has 3 levels where 14 trains run simultaneously under software control (Traincontroller 7F7). It uses a control unit ESU ECoS 50200 with an 8 amp booster (the ECoS does not provide power directly to the layout) and 2 ECoS current detectors monitoring 30 blocks. The layout is fully automatic, with a 12 train stageing yard hidden in the lowest level. Trains run on both directions, with local passenger trains running on schedules (stopping at the main station for 30 seconds) while the rest of the trains run with interlocking. All trains run in random selections so there is no predictable repetitions. It is under construction with more track laying required (shunting yard within the left top loop, and small mountain-top station for the railbus line within the right top loop) as well as catenary and extensive signaling. All locomotives have been upgraded to an ESU XL v3.5 decoder with DC motors (for old locos) and LED lighting both internal and external. Landscaping and other cosmetic touches are far away from completion. The room is 5m by 7m, and the gradients do not exceed 3.5%. Due to the size of the layout the trains are capped at 3.2m in length (approx. 8 two-axle wagons for freight or 3 long passenger wagons).
