Jim Stolze has always been at the forefront of the TEDx movement and was a Senior Ambassador for the TEDx program upon its inception. He and his team organized one of the inaugural TEDx events in 2009, TEDxAmsterdam, which has since evolved into one of the platform's most celebrated events. Having co-organized many TEDx events over the years, Jim's experience and expertise was summoned in 2012 when he moved to Doha, Qatar to help establish TED's presence and mission of 'Ideas Worth Spreading' in the Middle East region. At TEDxUNPlaza though, Jim will be sharing a new story. His ambition is to transform the way we look at volunteerism.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
