Derry is a city on the River Foyle in Northern Ireland. It’s known for the intact 17th-century Derry’s Walls with 7 gates. Within the walls, spired St. Columb’s Cathedral displays artefacts from the 1688–9 Siege of Derry.
I also filmed 'Free Derry Corner' which is a historical landmark in the Bogside neighbourhood of Derry which lies in the intersection of the Lecky Road, Rossville Street and Fahan Street. The area in front of the wall became known as Free Derry Corner by the inhabitants. It and the surrounding streets were the scene of the Battle of the Bogside in 1969 and Bloody Sunday in 1972. The houses on Lecky Road and Fahan Street were subsequently demolished, but the wall was retained.
Also in the footage is the Peace Bridge which is a cycle and foot bridge that crosses the River Foyle. It opened on 25 June 2011.
