Mechanical completion is usually defined as the process of checking and testing the equipment/components which have been installed in the construction phase of the project, to confirm that the installation is in accordance with drawings and specifications and ready for pre-commissioning OR commissioning in a safe manner and in compliance with project requirements.
However, we usually define the Mechanical Completion a bit different, as the process that dedicates certain Techniques, Methodologies, Procedures & Tools to assure that components/equipment are installed in accordance with the AFC engineering design and ready for pre-commissioning OR commissioning activities, by verifying the adherence to client’s specification, project requirements, and in compliance with the regulatory codes & standards (as applicable).
Both Definitions are ok and should there be NO conflict….
However, the definition by itself is not enough and we should go beyond ....
