This is a great activity if you have some items that can glow in the dark and a flashlight! Perhaps you have some stars or glow sticks or glow in the dark paint (that is up to you though!) You can use this activity with any age, however with 1 -year-olds you may need to support them with turning the flashlight on and off if it's not easy to do themselves, and you need to make sure the items that glow in the dark are not too small. This book is great for 1 year olds because they can navigate it themselves and all you need to do is maybe show them how the flashlight can affect the glowing.
