Anatomy physiology of body cavities, serous membranes, and their contents explained, drawn, defined. Regions, subdivisions of dorsal and ventral cavity reviewed.
The dorsal, ventral, cranial, spinal (vertebral), thoracic, pleural, pericardial, abdominopelvic, abdominal, and pelvic cavities house organs and structures such as the brain, spinal cord, lungs, heart, GI system, and bladder.
The dorsal cavity is lined by the meninges and contains cerebrospinal fluid. The ventral cavity is lined by serous membranes including the visceral and parietal pleura, pericardium, and peritoneum.
Learn the high-yield features of each cavity, their membranes, and their contents! Includes a flow chart and summary table!
