The Royal Australian Air Force has proudly shown off its Boeing EA-18G Growler electronic attack aircraft during Exercise Red Flag in Nevada.
Inspired by some of the features of the F/A-18F Super Hornet and the US Marine Corps' Prowler aircraft, the Boeing EA-18G Growler's primary role is to jam enemy radar systems.
The aircraft is armed with an AGM-88 missile which can be used to knock out radar systems on the ground. It also has an ALQ-99 pod which can be used to attack a range of different targets.
Flight Lieutenant Jacob Murphy explains the role of the Boeing EA-18G Growler.
