Following on from my 'setting standards' video, in episode 99 of my Police Promotion Success series, I discuss rape investigation standards. This is in relation to a recent article in the Guardian about Elizabeth Stanko. Elizabeth has been commmissioned by the Home Office to conduct an unprecedented and multi-£million investigation into policing's investigation of sexual offences.
I summarise some of the shocking findings in this highly topical report, then suggest how you as an aspiring police leader can prepare for promotion. I include example promotion board questions and how you can develop your leadership to provide better policing for the public in future.
