The PM's trip to Chattisgarh comes as all political parties are putting in their best efforts to win over voters ahead of the state assembly elections later this year. Prior to this, during the 2018 assembly elections, the Congress won a landslide victory, taking 68 of the 90 seats, defeating the then-ruling BJP, which won 15 seats.
