I returned to another town where I used to live
And met the me that hadn’t left
With effort we found a time for tea
Together, taking in the difference
The case for leaving and remaining
The future we had each torn up
The present that left us perplexed,
Gutted and asking for something that
Neither of us knows yet how to give.
