In this clip, star cellist Tina Guo teaches us about the importance of concentrated practice and how much we can accomplish if we practice slowly and methodically versus just running through passages over and over. Many people do not practice slowly and repeatedly enough, as Guo explains, and the only way to be able to play fast passages cleanly is by practicing them over and over slowly. When you make a mistake, even a tiny intonation error, Guo recommends you go back and start the phrase over, so your muscle memory can be built up the right way.
