"What is the recovery like after beard transplantation or facial hair transplant surgery? In order to harvest the hair that we're going to transplant, we use the Follicular unit extraction or a neograft method of hair restoration surgery. On some patients, we need to shave as mall strip of hair from the side of the head or the back of the hair in order to allow us to properly harvest the individual hairs that are going to be transplanted. Then the hairs are transplanted meticulously, individually, one by one and they're placed in the area that we desire for facial hair transplantation.
The back of the head really heals very quickly. As far as the facial region is concerned, it takes about 5-7days for the new hairs to take root, and it takes about 3-6 months until patient see hair growth in the facial transplanted region. As far as back to work and recovery is concerned, some patients go back to work as quickly as one day, many patients decide to take 3-5 days off of work after their facial hair transplant surgery.
