SYND international indoor athletics meeting in Tokyo on Saturday 8
19.3.86 March. Ingrid Auerswald started the East Germans' domination
LN117937 by winning the 60m sprint. Cornelia Oschkenat followed this
up with a victory in the 60m hurdles and Susan Helm made it
three golds with victory in the women's high jump. Mark
McKoy of Canada, who set an unofficial world record in the
men's 50m hurdles earlier this week, won the men's 60m
hurdles. In the men's 60m sprint Emmit King of the US just
pipped Canada's Ben Johnson, with both men recording the same
time of 6.56 seconds.
