Did you know the first ever set of emojis were released in 1999? Emoji is the blend of two Japanese words: picture and letter! Shigetaka Kurita (founding father of today’s emojis ) used Japanese graphic novels and Zapf Dingbats typeface as well as illustrations and pictograms to create the first emoji library!
