An amazing 8 minute time-lapse video showcasing the assembly of the Original Prusa i3 MK3S Kit and a Test print of Judge Dredd at the end using Octolapse.
Prusa Research by Josef Prusa released the Original Prusa i3 MK3S in February 2019 which contained additional refinements to the extruder body and filament sensor.
The price range of the printer is €769.00 and takes anywhere between 10-20 hours to assemble, generally you should have a weekend spare to get it all finished and have your first test print completed.
The whole process from ordering to assembly to printing was pretty easy however the delivery time was delayed due to COVID-19, so generally around a 5-7 week wait. If you did want the Prusa Mini it would be much longer wait unfortunately.
It was a nice treat for Prusa to include Haribo gummy bears however with my temperament and sweet tooth I finished these in the first chapter.
Following the instructions is generally easy however you should always read the text not only look at the pictures. Tools are all included however a power screwdriver would make this so much quicker. Oh and use a mat for the frame or it will scratch your worktop/desk.
I did go further in my Original Prusa i3 MK3S configuration by connecting it to a Raspberry Pi with Octoprint installed, this allows me to control the printer remotely. On top of this I installed Octolapse whilst using Gphoto2 to connect my Nikon DSLR camera to record the beautiful timelapse you see at the end of the assembly.
