Our exclusive render brings back this forgotten muscle car from the malaise era. Pontiac came up with the Can Am in 1977 to breathe life into the underwhelming sales of the Le Mans intermediate. It had aggressive styling and a more powerful V8 under its hood. It got its name from the famous Canadian-American racing series and was one of the coolest muscle cars of the unexciting Malaise Era.
You can think of the Can Am as the true spiritual successor to the iconic GTO. It had the performance to match Pontiac's other high-performance models from that era, such as the Grand Prix and the Firebird. Production only lasted six months for the 1977 model year, and less than 1500 units rolled off the factory floor, making this a pretty rare muscle car.
Hotcars digital artist Timothy Adry Emmanuel brings back this forgotten Pontiac for 2024 with a wild rendering. The digital reimagination shows what the Can Am would look like if turned into a sweet-looking restomod with modern styling and a widebody kit. It's the ultimate muscle car revival that you've been waiting for!
