With injection molding, often when the plastic cools inside the mold, it creates divots or craters on the outside edges of the part. This especially happens when trying to use injection molding on an especially small part. To get parts perfect, extra steps in the manufacturing process are needed if injection molding is used where as 3D printing it is ready to ship directly after production.
