This is a relatively popular Queensrÿche show from the early days. Queensrÿche is headlining the 1st of 3 shows at the L'amour East venue in Queens, New York City. Luckily for us, someone brought a video camera to the show, and recorded it (the 2nd night has an audio recording as well). The video showcases how small and intimate this concert is, and the audio quality is pretty good most of the time (although sometimes the lead vocals can be a bit low in the mix).
The show is 99% complete (small cut between 'Blinded' and 'Take Hold Of The Flame'), and the video is almost complete, since it's only missing the last song.
This is one of the very last shows on the 'Rage For Order Tour', and so Geoff's voice does, from time to time, show some fatigue.
Being a headline show, the band perform an extended set:
- 'Neue Regel': Is a solid version, although the sustains on the high notes are missing.
- 'Surgical Strike': Sounds alright, but is nothing special.
- 'Warning': Sounds good.
- 'The Whisper': Is a solid version with a nice balanced mix.
- 'Walk In The Shadows': Is fine, but Geoff hits some bad notes at times.
- 'No Sanctuary': Is one of the best performances of the night, and is a very good version. It has a nice F#5 at the end as well!
- 'London': Is a good version overall.
- 'Roads To Madness': Is a fine version as well, it does seem a bit rushed, and thus loses some of its appeal as well.
- 'Deliverance': Is fine overall.
- 'Chemical Youth': Is a pretty good version for the most part.
- 'Queen Of The Reich': Sounds alright, but again, some of the high notes lack either sustain or power. There are better versions on this tour.
- 'The Lady Wore Black': Is a shortened medley version, but it sounds great.
- 'Nightrider': Is a great version.
- 'Blinded': Is only the guitar solo and the ending, but it sounds alright.
- 'Take Hold Of The Flame': Has no video (as far as I know), but it's a great version with lots of power!
Enjoy the show people!
