Subject: What is a Dual plan?
A dual plan is a specialized Medicare Advantage plan available to individuals who qualify for both Medicare and Medicaid coverage. It’s short for Dual Eligible-Special Needs plan and may be available with no charge for monthly premiums.
Dual plans include all the standard benefits of Original Medicare and Medicaid and may also include prescription drug coverage as well as additional benefits at no extra cost. This can include dental, hearing, and vision care, over-the-counter benefits, transportation, and telehealth services.
Depending on your provider, these plans can connect you with your own Care Manager who will help ensure you have access to the benefits and care you need.
Dual plans also coordinate benefits between Medicare and Medicaid, making it easier for you and your loved ones to manage your healthcare.
