REEPERBAHN FESTIVAL COLLIDE
CURATED COLLISIONS
A project of Reeperbahn Festival.
COLLIDE connects musicians and visual artists to create unique aesthetic experiences.
Different art forms come together and melt into a single unique performance – that’s the idea behind REEPERBAHN FESTIVAL COLLIDE.
Curated with care, we permanently enrich the world wide web with a serial format celebrating music and art.
The concept:
One act, one visual artist, one shared stage.
A creative culmination where unique and custom created works of art visually accompany live performances.
Consisting of Frittenbude mastermind Jakob a.k.a. Kalipo and the duo Max Brudi and Dina a.k.a. Local Suicide, Dina Summer combine handmade synthpop with new wave and lean grooves to make a sound that lies somewhere between funk and punk and that is sure to be the highlight of any beach party from Rimini to Thessaloniki. But is it possible to bring the feeling of the golden years of Italo disco into the present without any kitsch? Indeed, and this trio knows how it’s done – including by using the rapturous Moroder melodies. Dina Summer performed three songs for REEPERBAHN FESTIVAL COLLIDE. On the one hand, they played the two singles “Who Am I” and “Revenge” from the early phase of the project, which conjured up first-class 80s vibes with their danceable force. Then, they played the electronically pimped cover of “I Wanna Be Your Dog” by The Stooges, which proved to be a real highlight. Visually, too, everything came together: Anna Balthasar’s red, pulsating visuals turned the performance of “Revenge” into a physical experience and a feast for all the senses. The artist confidently incorporated Super 8 images from a trip to Rimini as well as drone shots of the open sea and used them to create impressive visuals that allowed the summer to flood viewers’ eyes on a huge canvas.
Reeperbahn Festival is the biggest club festival in Europe and the largest European platform for international pop culture and the music industry. REEPERBAHN FESTIVAL COLLIDE
CURATED COLLISIONS
Bestehend aus Frittenbude-Mastermind Jakob a.k.a.
