And on his book, he detailed each Roman Legion that arrived and departed from Britain, And after an extensive search, he couldn’t find any mention of the ninth legion. In fact, in Italy, there is a pillar from the time of the reign of Emperor Marcus Aurelius, which provides a list of all Roman Military units in the empire, and the ninth Legion Hispana is clearly missing on that list. And after this point in history, the IX legion was never mentioned again in the roman records. This has been the subject debated by historians for nearly three hundred years.
