When I first played Mother 3, I was blown away by the bass line in Hard Rain. I wanted to do something with it but didn't know how to change it up and make the track into my own work. Up until this point I have been midi drawing my stuff, and a long term goal of mine is to eventually be recording most of the instrumentation for my songs. Because of this, I decided to play guitar on the Hard Rain segment, despite my lack of recording equipment. Long story short, the audio in the second part of the video is a mix of iPad microphone acoustic guitar and GarageBand midi instruments. Pretty crappy stuff, but I will be learning and improving as I go.
