Today's #strangeshellacsaturday features an anonymous German string duet of guitar and mandolin playing a march associated with the Lunapark - Europe's biggest amusement park of the time, located in Berlin. It opened it's doors in 1909 an existed until 1933, when the great depression had it's share.
The park had lots of water attractions and also from the early 1920s on a rotating house which you could visit.. One highlight was also a very high loose staircase called the Shimmy-Treppe where at the top a fan blew the skirts of the ladies up (!).
The Nazis were not fond of the park remains and demolished the site in 1935. Before that, the closed park was used for a while as a hideout from the Nazis by nonconformist puppeteer Alfredo Bannenberg who used to give shows at the park, when it was still open.
