Are you addicted to high sugar and highly palatable foods?
If yes, you're not alone. In this video I talk about my sugar addiction and how I overcame it. I personally quit sugar for over an year and found much more mental clarity and it aided me in my weight loss journey. At the same time it helped me reverse insulin resistance which is a common contributor to weight gain.

Step 1 in quitting sugar is to make up your mind and stick by it. Do not give into your cravings.
Step 2 is to find a sport or physical activity that you enjoy and can sustain for a long time. It activates the reward and feel good hormone called dopamine.
Step 3 is to cut out all forms of sugar. Check the nutrition labels before you purchase a product. You will experience some withdrawal symptoms but that is short lived.
Step 4 is to add protein and veggies in every meal. A high protein diet paired with fibrous foods is very satiating and can help keep your cravings at bay.
Step 5 is to prioritise sleep. Sleep is one of the most overlooked aspect when it comes to cravings. Lack of sleep can cause an increase in cortisol which in turn can cause blood sugar fluctuations.
