When you have a retrievable canopy anchor for SRT/SRS Tree climbing, it's beneficial to think about how any redirects you make may affect your ability to effectively retrieve the canopy anchor. Factors such as tight unions/crotches, bark friction, and rope weight (depending on how much tail you have threw the redirect) can all determine how difficult the retrieval process is, or if it's possible at all.
Here's a simple solution that I have learned to use so that I can undo the redirect first, then remove my canopy anchor. Just make sure to have enough slack on the ground so that as the high-line (horizontal leg of the redirect) comes down, that the leg you are pulling doesn't recede out of reach.
