In this clip from a "What Was I Thinking?" lesson in The Paul Franklin Method, Paul Franklin shares how to play the pedal steel guitar solo he played on Vince Gill’s “When I Call Your Name”.
The production team asked him to “Think George, Tammy and Conway”, so he put together some Pete Drake and John Hughey-inspired phrases to help give the track a vintage vibe. The result was Vince Gill's fist hit single.
