The "Santa Train" travels 110 miles through the Appalachian Mountains passing out toys and candy to kids on its 14 stops. The Santa Train started out as a celebration of all the success the coal mining communities were having, but as the years went on and mines closed, many people have lost their livelihoods. Now the gifts from the train are the only ones some kids get for Christmas.
Our grandma actually grew up in a coal mining community with her family in West Virginia so this song has deep roots for us. Patty Loveless wrote this song and we think it's such a fun tune and love the joy this train brings to so many people. You can read more about the Santa Train here: [ Ссылка ]

►LYRICS - Santa Train
It's Christmas time and I can't wait
Mama hurry, don't be late
Let's go down to the railroad tracks
Santa Train is coming back
Ooh Ooh Here It Comes
Ooh Ooh Santa Train
Ooh Ooh Get On Board
Ooh Ooh Santa Train
From Shelbiana through Elkhorn Pass
Up the grade and down to Dante
All along the Clinchfield Route
Little children scream and shout
Ooh Ooh Here It Comes
Ooh Ooh Santa Train
Ooh Ooh Get On Board
Ooh Ooh Santa Train
The Santa Train is almost here
Loaded down with Christmas cheer
Pulling out of Dungannon
Look out Kingsport, here it comes
Ooh Ooh Here It Comes
Ooh Ooh Santa Train
Ooh Ooh Get On Board
Ooh Ooh Santa Train
Ooh Ooh Sandy Ridge
Ooh Ooh Copper Creek
Ooh Ooh Cady Junction
Ooh Ooh Bart Lick
Ooooh Haysi
Ooooh Clickety Clack
Ooooh Boulder Bluff
Ooooh Santa's Back
